Commercial Manager

As a Commercial Manager, you are responsible for all commercial advisory related activities, such as developing, delivering and providing commercial support, strategies and advice to help the Commonwealth successfully deliver value for money projects.

Commercial Manager Job Description

Provide commercial advice and support services relating to projects, contracts, strategies and procurement processes.
Provide commerial overview and advice in relation to vendor proposals , draft contracts and executed contracts to ensure that the Commonwealth gets a commercially savvy outcome
Evaluate, negotiate and finalise commercial risks arising from draft contracts (such as when a tenderer wants to amend the terms of a draft contract issued with a tender).
Liaise and negotiate with vendors to turn vendor proposals into value for money contracts
Potentially provide contract compliance management and reports to ensure satisfactory vendor performance against KPIs.
Potentially providing advice and assistance drafting strategically important MOUs with other agencies
Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Effectively negotiate the terms of the contract to achieve a win-win solution.

Job Requirements

Commercial legal experience or contract law experience highly advantageous
Knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, PGPA Act, Probity rules, and applicable rules and laws is a strong plus
Excellent verbal, written communication, and negotiation skills
Effective planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Highly analytical with strong attention to detail

Salary Range

$110,000 to $255, 000+

Security Clearance

Ideally you would hold, or be able to get, a Commonwealth security clearance at the TSPV, NV2, NV1 or baseline level.
